Rhythmicon strives to bring originality and dedication to bass culture. Busy working with the collective Pacific Dubstep, he also plays alongside Gobe and Frame as the bassweight juggernaut “The Big Reds” as well as Atma, as “Chainsaw Sound”. In 2009 he had the honour of throwing down at the Victoria Electronic Music Festival and Soundwave Music Festival; and regularly plays alongside influential artists such as Skream, Appleblim, Pinch, and RSD.
Known for his contagious enthusiasm behind the turntables, Rhythmicon still tailors sets appropriate to the occasion – be it a nightclub, restaurant, dance party, lounge, art gallery, or radio show. Paying homage to traditional DJ culture, he actively collects and plays (the now increasingly rare) vinyl, in addition to working fresh unreleased digital material into his sets.
Now with a focus on unique dubstep, his signature style reflects his roots, drawing on his love for jungle, dub music, R&B, hip hop and downtempo. Regardless of what genre he is playing, the focus is always on bass, melody, and rhythm.
At current he holds several residencies; moving the dancefloor at the Lucky Bar monthly “Sub|Division”; as well as keeping it chillin @ “Dub Sessions” at The Reef Restaurant on the second and fourth friday of every month.
